Practice Description
I represent and advise folks involved with estates and trusts, including representation to resolve disputes among family members and in contested matter proceedings concerning all manner of issues, including fiduciary oversight, fiduciary defense, creditors' claims against estates, common law marriage, construction of trusts and wills, disputes over trusts and wills, trust and estate administration, and protective proceedings (guardianships and conservatorships). I tell people that I do not do the "putting together" side (drafting of wills and trusts), but the "falling apart" side - folks having problems settling estates and trusts. I work on an hourly basis, utilize contract attorneys and part-time legal assistants, and co-counsel with other attorneys as necessary to represent my clients in sometimes difficult and complex circumstances. I have appeared in probate courts all around the state and also now regularly use remote video platforms to meet with clients, other counsel, mediators and to attend court hearings.
