Attorney Biography
In 2019, I went into solo practice, opening Allan Law, PLLC. In my practice, I view every claim I handle as a puzzle which I must solve. Interpreting a contract and applying the law to the contract terms and facts of the case are all pieces of the puzzle which need to be pieced together. No single claim is alike. I tell my clients, “as the facts (or the contract terms, or the insurance policy language) change, so does the result.” I love the challenge of the puzzle: especially when I have put the last piece into place. As a business owner, I am fiercely protective of my name and my product. That means, I take pride in my work, and knowing that in every claim, no matter how large or small, complicated or straight forward, I have put my best effort into the task at hand. Here is some background information about me:
Who (am I)?
I, Kristin A. Allan, was first admitted to the N.Y. Bar in 2003. In 2005, my husband and I moved from the shores of Long Island to the Centennial State and I have been practicing law in Colorado ever since. My little family of four loves all of the outdoor adventures Colorado has to offer! As an advocate of public education, I spend my free time volunteering and supporting my kids' elementary school and their school district.
Where (have I been)?
I began my career working for an insurance defense sole practitioner in Manhattan. Tucker Holmes, P.C. hired me as a junior associate conditioned upon passing the Colorado bar (which I did). At Tucker Holmes, under the guidance of excellent mentors, I learned and practiced the skills required of a litigation and coverage attorney. Finding I was more suited to insurance coverage work, I refined and focused my practice, moving up to the position of senior associate. When approached with the opportunity of becoming a business owner, I readily accepted. I partnered with one other as co-owners of an insurance coverage firm in 2014. Then I branched out on my own, in 2019.
Why (did I create Allan Law, PLLC)?
From my early days working for a sole practitioner, I found the business model a highly effective way to interact with clients and practice the law. I look forward to working with you as I forge forward with my newest endeavor.
