Attorney Biography
Joanna ("Jo") Kitto focuses her practices in family law, mediation and arbitration services, probate and trust administration, fiduciary services, as well as asset protection and estate planning. Prior to founding Kitto Law, PC, Ms. Kitto was a shareholder in the law firm of Ambroziak Kitto PC from 2005-2015, and was associated with Chapman and Cutler in Chicago (200 attorneys), McKenna Long and Aldridge, LLP in Denver (600 attorneys), and Perkins Coie's Denver office. At these firms, she represented Fortune 500 companies and medium-sized companies in numerous litigations or dispute resolutions. She has litigated and resolved hundreds of disputes, whether in family law, probate, elder exploitation, and numerous breach of contract, real estate, fiduciary duty, fraud and shareholder disputes. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Kitto worked as a tax accountant. Ms. Kitto is active in her community. She has served on the board and as secretary of the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, and Rebuilding Together * Metro Denver, Inc., an organization established to assist the elderly and disabled in home repairs, and has served on the board of the Colorado Women's Bar Association as well, chairing its judicial committee. She was also a fellow at the Legal Assistance Foundation in Chicago through the Public Interest Law Initiative, providing legal counsel to low-income clients in the areas of consumer fraud, landlord-tenant and elder law issues. She has been active in the Denver Chamber of Commerce, Golden Chamber of Commerce and the Applewood Business Association. Ms. Kitto received her Juris Doctor with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology and her accounting degree from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. While in law school, she gained valuable experience through her work for the Law Review, her internship at the London, England offices of Lehman Brothers and her externship to Chief Judge Marvin E. Aspen of the Northern District of Illinois. Ms. Kitto is admitted to practice before the state court of Colorado, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and Federal Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims and the United States District Court of Colorado. She has previously practiced in Illinois before the state courts and the Northern District of Illinois.
