Probate administration is the legal process that is used to administer an estate and transfer title of assets after death. If there is a Will, the probate is referred to as a testate estate —or if there is no Will, it is referred to as an intestate estate. In Colorado there are three types of probates: Small Estates: under $70,000 (2021) and no real property. Informal Probate: uncontested estates with a valid Will. Formal Probate: for contested estates and invalid or questionable Wills. Probate law is a unique and complex field. That’s why it’s important to work with a lawyer with an in-depth understanding of the complexities and requirements involved in probate cases. Attorney, Donnia E. Howell, concentrates her law practice in the areas of Family Law, Estate Planning, and Probate. Ms. Howell operates a client-focused practice. Every case is unique and her individualized approach demonstrates her passion for helping clients achieve the best possible outcome of their case. Navigating legal issues can be confusing and is often very stressful and emotionally draining. Ms. Howell will walk beside you, advocate and articulate your position to the opposing side and the legal authority so you can resolve issues and move forward.

Ms. Howell earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Howell graduated summa cum laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a Masters in Gerontology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Howell Law, LLC is located in the Reunion community of Commerce City, in Adams County. Ms. Howell is licensed by the Supreme Courts of the States of Colorado and Wyoming, and the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Howell enjoys serving her community through her non-profit activities, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
