Attorney Biography
Allison is a Colorado native who never stops striving to find new ways to help others. Having come to a career in law a little later than some of her peers, prior to entering law school Allison worked as an Amercian Montessori Society certified teacher in one of Denver's most established Montessori schools. While Allison enjoyed working with her young students, over time, she found herself seeing some of her students struggle with the impact of their parents' separation and/or divorce, and wanting to find ways to help her students' parents as well. As an avid student of history, she called upon her admiration for many great historical lawyers and political figures to motivate her to turn her attention to the law.
As a lawyer, Allison practices exclusively in the area of family law where she integrates her Montessori skill set into not only helping her clients, but to promote the best interests of her clients' children as well. Like Maria Montessori did with her students, Allison strives to work with her clients in a way that directs them toward greater independence from the courts. Allison strongly believes that courts, while invaluable, should operate as an option of last resort in the family law setting, particularly in cases involving children due to the well-known negative effects divorce and other adverse childhood experiences can have on children. One of the ways Allison helps her clients develop this independence and freedom from the court's intervention in their family's life is by emphasizing her offering of unbundled and flat-fee services, in which the client can learn to navigate the legal issues with which they are presented while also still receiving the legal guidance they need and desire.
Outside of work, Allison can usually be found reading, gardening, watching baseball, or spoiling her local squirrels and birds with all kinds of healthy treats. Or maybe even watching some Bob's Burgers episodes, for which she refuses to apologize. She lives in Denver with her husband, Tyler, whom she had the great fortune of meeting in law school.
